Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

A week ago, I had an accident.  A lady cut across 2 lanes of a 4 lane road (trying to turn left into a parking lot) and I hit her.  The police came, looked over the scene and promptly wrote her a ticket for failure to yield right of way.  OK no biggee.  IN the last 5 years, I have had 6 accidents.  The only one I paid for was when I hit the deer.  My wife says my car has a bulls eye on it.  I believe her.

So I called her insurance company, gave them the information, including the ticket number, and they said they would get back to me.  I figured it would be the next day since their policy holder was at fault.  Hahahahaha.  A week later, I had still not heard from them, and since my car was not drivable (the fender was scraping the wheel), I called them.  What was their excuse for non-action?  They were "investigating" the crash!  Whaaaaattttt?????

Here I have been bipedal for a week now, and they have been jerking me around!  Still no call, still no resolution, still nothing!  And still no rental car!

I filed a complaint with the State Insurance board today.  I guess they are waiting for me to hire a lawyer.  Don't worry, I am today!  This is just outrageous!

As I said, I am not unfamiliar with the process.  After all, 6 in 5 years?  My favorite company to do business with is Progressive.  They are by far the easiest and the friendliest.  Having a rental of my choosing ready when the car is taken to their place, and a pager to contact me when the car is ready.  I have dealt with them twice now.  But Liberty Mutual?  A bunch of shysters!

I could have been a real jerk.  Faked a back injury and milked them for all the money I could.  But no, I was just too honest.  Yea right!  I am going after them now since this excessive walking has caused back spasms and undue physical and emotional stress due to their negligence.

It is over a week now, and so far, they have not called me (I did call them Friday to find out what was going on - they were still investigating!).  So now I am going to get nasty.  As far as I know, their policy holder is not destitute (she was driving a Lincoln Continental - and probably why she could drive off).  Whether her policy is paid up or not is not my problem but something to be settled between her and Liberty, and does not involve me.

But still they think it is more fun to jerk me around than to try to make could on their promises.  Guess I am going to have to get nasty - and I hope everyone with a claim against them does the same!

Liberty Mutual, you Suck!

Sorry to hear of the hassles, but sounds very familiar to me.  Last year a young driver, who was specifically excluded from the insurance policy of her parents vehicle, which she was driving, wiped out on the Beltway in front of me, crossed 4 lanes of traffic while doing a 180 and wound up clipping both my front and rear on my car.

Insurance company for that one dug up the "she was an excluded driver" which put me into "uninsured motorist" territory with my insurance company (the Gecko).  The Gecko was good about covering my vehicle, and actually it worked out better for me deductible wise that it went to uninsured motorist with the exception of having to pay a deductible still.

The irritating part being that I shouldn't have had to pay anything at all.  The other driver was absolutely at fault, and her insurance (or her parent's insurance) should have paid.  To this date the lawyer that the Gecko handed the case off to still hasn't contacted me to say a check is in the mail to me for the deductible.  I expect I'll never get that money, or the money that I had to pay over and above the rental car allowance, back.

As you point out, the best answer is get a lawyer.  As much as I hate the scum sucking low-lifes that infest the legal profession,  they have their uses and their times, and it sounds like you've hit just such a time.  I hope you get one that is capable of getting bleeding someone dry, and I hope he/she does just that to the other driver and their insurance carrier.

Yea, sad to say, that is the route I am going to take.  At least my wife is in the profession, so she knows who to ask and talk to.

Yikes...I know this is a bit late, but sorry to hear about your accident.

It stinks that you can't get things cleared up...I hope it happens soon.

They are still jerking me around!  But now I have the BOI and my insurance agent on it!  I am going to nail them!
