Cathy Seipp, a conservative journalist and blogger, died a week ago after a long battle with Cancer. She left behind a loving daughter, Maia. She was a conservative to the core, and had no problems with her political viewpoints.
But someone did. Someone, who decided that she - and her daughter - had slighted him, hounded her not only in her life, but even to her death bed. With a hate and vitriol that defies logic, but is too often seen in the political arena. With just hours to go before her death, Eliot Stein, a supposed journalist teacher, wrote, in her name (as if it was her writing):
her supposed “very last blog entry” called her years of journalism a “shoddy,” “despicable” and “irresponsible” career as a “fourth-rate hack.” Her political stance? All a mistake.
The fiery, unwavering supporter of George W. Bush supposedly said she'd done a complete 180 in the past year and was now an implied supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y. What was even more perplexing was that “Seipp” was taking mean-spirited potshots at her own daughter, Maia Lazar, whom she called an “obnoxious” and “arrogant” wanna-be “skank” who was “mentally ill.” Throughout the letter, the one person whom “Seipp” seemed most sorry for ever having offended was Maia's 10th-grade journalism teacher, who had frequently clashed with mother and daughter. Finally, “Seipp” said she was probably to blame for her own illness — the “venom” she'd spewed for years was responsible for her terminal cancer.
This small minded hatemonger perceived that Cathy Seipp had cost him his job over a disagreement with Cathy's daughter. But it is plain to see, by his actions and going out of the way to insult not only Cathy, but Maia, that his obsession with this supposed slight was indicative of a larger personality problem and that he should not have been near any students in the first place. We have enough people that must come in contact with our children on a daily basis, that we do not have to allow psychopaths like Eliot Stein near them. For his hatred is unhealthy and scary to any loving parent.
Cathy is dead now. May she rest in peace. But Eliot Stein and his ilk live on to continue their hate filled diatribes past the point of human decency, past the point of vengeance, and into the realm of a psychotic disorder. A disorder that he should seek treatment for, but sadly, will not nor be forced to.
And he wonders why he was fired?
He is not alone. These examples are resplendent with the left loons on such illuminated sites as du.org and Puffington Host. Their hatred is irrational and rabid. One can even see signs of it here on JU. Will any of them learn from this sick and sordid story of a small minded lunatic? Probably not. I would hope they would look in the mirror and be reviled by what they see. Sadly, I don't think many will.
