Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Yes people, Switzerland has joined the rank of invading countries!  In keeping with its size and capabilities, Switzerland did not try to take on any behemouths like Monaco or Andora.  Instead it decided to pick on someone its own size, and invaded Liechtenstein!

With a company of 170 heavily armed troops (actually it was heavy arms - but I digress), Switzerland drove deep into enemy territory before being driven back by an enraged farmer with a plow mule and pitchfork!

The actual story is not so adventurous, but none the less it is humorous!  It is nice to see an invaded country excuse the actions of the agressor so readily and easily.  It reminds one of the Grand Duchy of Grand Fenwick, except they picked on a much bigger country.  And won!

Nice reference to one of my all-time favorite movies.  Peter Sellers was a genius.

I love the quote where they are negotiating for the settlement, and Sellers asks for $1m.  The US guy says, you mean $1b. No, $1m.  But we gave more than $1b to Germany! "Yes, but they lost".

Which was more embarrassing for the Swiss troops. That they actually marched into another country without realizing it or that they marched into another country who didn't notice or care.

I love that movie. Now I feel like watching it again.

It has been a long time since I saw the movie. Sellers is a genius and this is a great story. I love that Liechtenstein didn't even notice.

An Army with no ammo invading a country with no army. Makes sense to me.

Reminds me when my friends would get in drunken fights with each other every weekend.

They should be. Switzerland has compulsory military service, and they can mobilize an army of 1 million soldiers within 24 hours. They are well trained troops, as well. The Swiss are just smart enough to stay out of other countries' squabbles.

And the only thing they managed to hit was the floor.

History lessons go in history.  This is humor.  Besides, have you seen their guards at the Vatican?  Would you be intimidated by them?

LOL! I know...I just hate to see someone thinking the Swiss military are pushovers, ya know? It's not like they're FRENCH or anything!

Now, if FRANCE had invaded Lichtenstein, I'm pretty sure that Lichtenstein would have conquered the damn surrender monkeys in retaliation!

LOL!
