Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

In a day, I am going to leave this freezer, for climates more suitable for living.  Southern California.  Where the highs this time of year are in the 60s and 70s (mostly the latter), and the lows a balmy 50 or so.  And the sun always shines!  Yes, paradise in Ferbruary!

Once there, I shed my long sleeves, long pants and shoes!  And spend 10 days in shorts, short sleeves and bare feet!  As this has been happening about 4 years now, my wife's family has created a nickname for me.  As they shiver in the 70 degree cold (it gets up to 120 in the summer, so I guess 75 is cold), and watch me walk around like a blanched tourist, they have started calling me Virginia.  The state where I come from.  And I dont care!  No Nickname, no sneers and taunts about the "tourist" is going to make me stop enjoying spring weather in February!

So I am going to California, to be called Virginia, and I am going to love every warm degree of it!  For KFC, Tova, Trudy, and all the stardock folks, my sympathies as you look for 33 as a warm day. ...................

Ok, enough contrition!  Buy a space heater, or come on out to california!  It is actually not a vacation (yea right!), but a working trip.  For a fund Raiser in memory of my Wife's nephew.  Killed by a drunk driver 14 years ago now.  This is to raise money for a scholarship fund in his name.

I am SOOOOOO glad my wife grew up in Southern California and not new Hampshire! (nothing wrong with the latter - but where would you want to go in Februrary?)

Ah yes, the land of fruits and nuts. And warm weather.

It's easy to spot the snow birds down here this time of year too. pasty white skin and summer clothing when the temps are all the way down to 70.

Enjoy yourself Virginia. And yes, there is a Santa Claus.

It was below zero again this morning...

so enjoy the balmy weather,  and in memory of your wife's nephew may they raise the most money they ever have.

And yes,  the expected 30 degrees,  33 or 34,  it'll feel like summer here!
