Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

The link is about a very bizarre and weird, and frightening tale.  About a divorce, where the mother (as usual) got custody of the couple's 3 daughters.  About a man, a sitting judge no less, tried 9 times to force visitation with them, and about a women that went off the deepend and locked up the 3 girls for 7 years in a squallid, mouse infested cesspool, with no outside contact with the world.

The tale is sad, and scary.  Sad?  Authorities say the oldest girl may never recover, and the other 2 will bear scars for the rest of their life.

Scary?  A father seeking simple visitation with his daughters was thwarted at every turn by a legal system that has decided that divorced fathers have no rights, regardless of what is agreed upon or written on a court order.  That not only the father, but the neighbors lodged complaint after complaint, and the authorities did nothing - NOT-A-THING - for 7 years.  Why?  Because the mother had the daughters, so everything must have been alright.

The damage done to these girls by the callous and indifferent attitude of the authories can never be undone.  But I wonder if anyone is going to listen and learn from this.  Not that all mothers are psycho, but that fathers should have the same rights to their children as mothers.  If the law in Austria (the location of this macabre tale) had treated the man with the same respect, honor and dignity they bestowed on the mother, those 3 girls would be much better off today, and probably living normal healthy happy lives.

Instead, due to the bigotry and injustice of legal systems the world over, the cries of the father were ignored, and 3 girls will suffer the rest of their life for that arrogance.

I thought that the legal system treating divorced fathers like criminals, no, worse than criminals as criminals do have rights, was just an American thing. I see now that's more of a social attitude of the Western world in general.

I had never thought of other Western countries as being as hostile to the father until I read this.  And it really saddens me that they can be oh so great when it comes to "peace" and oh so backward when it comes to justice.

Life is just not fair.

Life is not fair, but as GeneHackman said in Poseidon "I am not asking for your help, but damnit dont work against me!".  That seems to be the way governments view fathers.
