Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Ok, the year is yet young, but this has got to be the biggest non-story.  After preening and primping for the last 6 years, Hillary has finally tossed her bonnet into the 08 Presidential ring.

And the MSM treats it like the second coming of Christ.  Oh well, I guess weekends are slow news days.  Because this should have been a footnote on page A-8, since it has been reported since she won in 2000.

Ho-Hum.

Is she in with a chance Doc?

It all depends upon who the republicans run.  Her campaign has already started a smear on Obama (he is now considered the front runner - but that wont last), so I think she has a good chance to get the nomination.  If the republicans run a strong Governor, no, she has no chance.  If they run a weak senator, yes she does.

uggggg I think I'm going to be sick....and it's been coming so none of us can really be surprised. I, for the life of me, cannot see the attraction here. My grandmother LOVES her even decorating her house with Hilary's pictures all over the place. I liken it to Hilary worship and I can't wrap my head around it at all.

Dont worry.  While Bill's pecadillos are probably not going to come out against her, her Rose Law Firm "I cant remember" and "where are those billing records?" are going to be used by her opponents.  And not even the Republicans.  The Democrats will do the dirty work.  If she gets the nomination, her past is going to be open for the world to see, and it cannot stand the light of day.

I think I'd prefer Obama...but we'll see where it goes.

If the Republicans try and run with Jeb Bush I will then know that Armageddon is upon us.

I think you can forget that one.  But as far as Obama, I fear he will not last long.  The Clinton machine has already started on him.  He wont last.

Whew...that's a relief.

Probably not. Pity, he seems like a decent guy...I'd like to hear if he has some war strategy before he gets eaten by the aforementioned Clinton machine.

In that I dont expect to hear much until the general election.  The democrats will be saying one of 2 things.  Out now, or time line for a draw down.  Their base is going to demand at least the latter.

I think she would be an 'orrible first female president - don't you have a better female candidate? Someone a bit more likeable for the first one?

Condi Rice - but she is not going to run.

why does someone not "make" her run then?

why does someone not "make" her run then?

Because anyone that runs is going to be trashed.  And some just do not want to put themselves and their families through that.  No one can be forced to run.  IN time, there will be a woman president.  But she is going to have to have a lot less baggage than hillary.

Actually, Dr. Guy, I think the negativity around Hillary will limit her chances. As Dick Morris observede, Obama has an advantage Hillary does not; he doesn't come with baggage.

Frankly, on the GOP side, I believe pretty firmly in Ron Paul. If he gets the GOP nomination, he stands a VERY good chance at beating anybody the Dems throw up because of the Libertarians he will bring back into the fold (don't forget, he was the LP Presidential candidate in '88). I've heard a LOT of buzz RE: Paul on the Libertarian message boards, and I think that's significant enough not to rule him out.

You can't "make" someone run for president. When you run, you lay out your personal life for everyone to see. And on top of that....a regular life? You give that up also.

I will not argue that.  But look how close Kerry came in 04, and he truly had a lot of baggage.
