Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Our newly selected senator from the not so great state of Virginia, has decided that war is better than peace. At a social at the White house for newly elected 'representatives' (and I use that term lightly), George Bush sought out Jim Webb, the FIRED Sec of the navy (it appears with good reason) during Reagan's administration, to ask about his son.

Webb's response?  FO!  Well, he was not that ribald (how I don't know, his social skills are on the level of alley oop).  But the intent was there.  So much for Reid and Pelosi's grandiose pronouncements of bi-partisanship.

For the last 12 years, and especially the last 6, we have had to endure pure vitriol from the left as they proposed nothing (we had no power to!  Auntie Em!), but spewed enough hate to fill a battleship.

Guess what?  Nothing has changed except they are in power!  And they have not changed their tune! No Proposals, no solutions, just the same old hate.

FO they tell all and everyone!

Thank you for electing Jim Webb!  Welcome to his hell.  You dealt it, not smell it.

The simple truth is, it would have taken nothing for Webb to politly respond, He is doing the best he can under such situation.

I notice the left refuses to even acknowledge, the exchange MIGHT be impolite.

Dr. Guy, please do not pretend that the President was unaware of the situation when he asked the Senator-elect the question.

My "BOY" is 21.  He is still my "Boy".  Asking about a child as a child is normal for parents.  Asking about a child in harms way is not out of line and in keeping with how Bush is.  Show me how it was out of character?  Show me where he has never done that before?  Is Webb ashamed of his sons service?  He must be if he was offended.  Why did he even show up if he was going to be rude?  Just to be rude?

No, fortunately for most of us, New Speak has not taken hold yet.  If you ask me how my boy is doing while he pickets this war, I am not going to take offense.  But then I am not looking for offense.  The only ones that could construe Bush's question as an offense is one who is looking for it.

Politeness seems to still be lacking on the left, even in victory.

I fully acknowledge that the exchange was impolite. I just happen to think that ther person lacking manners is not the person who you think is lacking manners!

Nice to see you back, MM!

Why, but of course. Us godless liberals partake fully in the commericalized aspect of the holiday season -- we just ignore that bit about the Savior's birth!

I said except for the ones slamming Allen

why do i get the feeling you consider the set of all webb ads slamming allen to comprise all webb ads ever produced?

i have the utmost confidence those willing to invest a few minutes checking out all 9 of webb's ads will easily be able to determine for themselves whether webb did or didn't (as you claim) make "his sons service a part of almost every campaign commercial."

mildly entertaining as it may be witnessing yet another of your futile attempts to bridge the ever-widening gap between that which you'd prefer to be and that which actually is, i'm not sufficiently motivated to contact webb's campaign for a full tally of what aired when and to whom.

Both were acidic in it as far as i am concerned.

In my opinion,

1. Bush shouldn't have asked.

2. Webb could've said something along the lines of, "Mr. President, I thank you for your inquiring, but...."

Could've made it less of a "fight" as some folks think.

Just because the link no longer lists the whole conversation does not in 2006 mean that it does not exist.

Ooh ooh, let me guess...it's cause the media is liberal and biased? ( )

And again I challenge you to produce how many times each ad ran.  As I explained to Shades, it does not matter if only one had had his son in it if it was the only one that ran, now is it? I fully understand your lack of motivation.  He is my senator and I am not motivated to contact him as I dont feel like getting an ear full of invectives.  Leopards do not change spots.

Wrong blog.  This one is not about media bias.  Try sticking to the subject.
