Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

It seems that not only is Bush destroying America, he is destroying French politics as well!  It seems that conservative candidate Nicolas Sarkozy is being accused (like Blair) of being a Bush Suck up!  Why?

Did he (Nicolas) agree with Bush about Iraq?  No.  Did he (Nicolas) criticize the yellow streak on the backs of the French (debatable), no.  So what did he do?

He Committed the capital crime of saying - he liked Bush!

Yes, in a country that prides itself on losses, and being second (but claiming first - the old USSR has nothing on them), the French cannot tolerate testosterone (just see the latest scandal at the Tour De france).  Nicolas Sarkozy likes Bush!  A lot of people do.  He is a likeable guy.  Others cant stand him, but most of them have never met him.

Bush, whether you love him, like him or hate him, is a nice guy.  But for a Frenchy to say that is apparent poison in a nation that values 9 gears for reverse and only one for forward.  A nation that has no military victories to speak of.  A nation that quite simply would not exist with out the magnanimity of Jolly old England (who could have wiped them off the face the earth so many times, but did not) and the US (which has some weird affinity to French Wine and Cheese - I guess that is the Hooker contigent).

As before, America will watch (some) and yawn as we dont care about who rules France.  It will not change.  But I do love it that now we have a 6th or maybe 7th election where the focus is not on the countries internal issues, but who likes W the most.  No president in the history of the US has had that much influence.

By ignoring the jerks, we are influencing their decisions.  And the only reason is they are too stupid to realize that WE DONT CARE how you run your country!  But then if we wink at them, we are interfering!

Gotta love the tin foil hat crowd around the world.  France!  Calling Chavez!  lend us some Hats!

Apart, of course, from 1066, several of Napoleon's campaigns and a few key victories during the 100-year war. They also successfuly conquered Vietnam and parts of China, although admittedly those two weren't particularly difficult.

Rubbish. England and France were at war extremely frequently and yet England could never hold territorial possessions on the French mainland for very long. France isn't as weak as you claim.

And his policies could easily be considered threatening to the security and future of France. Why should the French like Bush even if he's personable? What has Bush done for France lately?

So you must think the US won the Vietnam war as well.  Hey!  We lost no battles.

I already (as did the article) explained that Nicolas does not agree with the Bush Policies.  So you think that if you disagree with someone, you have to hate them?  Must not have many friends.

France was in Vietnam for many, many years. In fact the only reason it left was that the rebuilding of the motherland was so hideously expensive there was no cash for overseas adventure. And anyway - the Americans seemed to be so positively enthusiastic to do all the fighting for France! If you look at it from their perspective, letting the Americans do all the dirty work and then sliding in after they had left seemed to be a win-win situation. No one assumed defeat at that stage, least of all the French, who'd seen the Yanks victorious against so many foes.

Must not have many friends.[/quotes]

States don't have friends. They have interests. A leader who is friendly with someone who goes against the interests of the state is a liability and a danger.
