Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Most know that my wife is a paralegal.  And I a network Jock.  But I work downtown, and she in a safer climate, so that on occassion, she asks me to take things to the court house.  Not a problem.  I have been doing it for about 3 years now, and the US Marshalls (no none of them are Tommy Lee Jones) know me by sight now, and wave me through.  I always leave my cell phones at the office as I know they are verbotten.

Today was a little different.  It was an Adversarial filing (for the legal beavers, if you know what that is, and are welcome to explain to the rest of us).  But there was a problem with it.  It turns out the filing attorney did not fill out the paperwork correctly, as she was going in for surgery, and it had to be filed today due to some real estate issues (that much I understood).  But as I stood there in the clerks office and they were trying to figure out what to do, and I was looking like a deer in the headlights, they decided to call the attorney (in surgery) and then my wife.  It took them awhile to get her however (push 1, push 2, push 3 dance).

So the Clerk was talking to me (extremely nice and helpful once she realized I was clueless), and then noticed my hands. "how did you get those sores on your hands?" (twixt thumb and index finger).  Before I could answer, she said "You were raking, right?"

Smart lady!  Yea, we just had Ernesto come through and most around here have been raking (not a bad storm, but a lot of stuff from trees in the yard!).  Yep I said.  Before I could say another word, she blurted "I hate raking!  It seems so useless.".

I like this lady!

Anyway, she finally got my wife, and they figured out what to do, and I left with a stamped copy.  And a nice 15 minute visit with some very nice clerks of the court!  And a very perceptive one as I figure (from a look at her hands) that her husband had done the raking too!

And before you ask, no, I dont use gloves!  I am a stupid male after all!  geez!  You expected me to learn? HAhahahahaha

I gave up raking a long time ago...my yard's too big and the wind takes care of the leaves after a bit.

Yes, not to rake!

I use to know that one, until the wife decided we had to have a signature lawn!

I suspect your current address takes care of it better!  besides, fences make good neighbors, and yep!  the leaves come, but they do not leaf (it does not help that most of them come from my trees!).

That's the nice thing about palm trees. No leaves to rake.

Sounds like a good time was had by all!

I used to leaf the leaves for the wind too! or gather them to jump into! Be like Leo Buscalgia and bring them indoors and make a pile of leaves to sit on. That's what he did after a neighbor complained about his yard!!

It's fun to go walking and shuffle through them too, or watch as the leaves burn and the smoke curls upwards toward the sky, miss those days..

Yea, but then we get one hurricane every 4 years, not 4 every year!

How far are you from Vero Beach?  Just curious.

I love the smell of burning leaves, but do not live in a part of the county where it is allowed.

I hate raking leaves. I'm not going to ever rake leaves again. Not because I refuse to, but because there's no trees in this town. I live in a desert. There's palm trees. You may see a tree here and there with leaves but none near our house. You're lucky if you even see grass.

My In-laws live in a desert as well, but they have lots (not as many as us) trees, and grass.  They are on town water, and there are no water meters in town!  So no reason to conserve.

One day, we are moving out there!
