Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

In the last 3 weeks we have had a chance to compare and contrast 2 people.  One on the left and one on the right and how they were treated by the Supposedly unbiased media.

And we have learned.  What?

Well here is the first, I am sure you will recognize it:

Gibson Said to Slam Jews, Misbehave During DUI

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2251876

Ok, factual, and the headline shows that.  Now the next.

Andrew Young leaves Wal-Mart media group

http://money.cnn.com/2006/08/18/news/newsmakers/bc.retail.walmart.young.reut/index.htm?cnn=yes

Seems clear cut, right?  Gibson was being a racist (or at least an anti-semite) and Poor Andy was just tired of kow towing to the evil Wal Mart.  But what prompted these headlines?  Well Gibson's is easy to see.  I doubt anyone has not yet:

According to the site, the report said Gibson's comments included, "F------ Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," and that he asked a deputy, "Are you a Jew?"

Yea, it is not PG.  But why did Andy resign?  Hmmmm.....the title gives us no clue, but perhaps this will.

"Well, I think they should; they ran the 'mom and pop' stores out of my neighborhood," the paper quoted Young as saying. "But you see, those are the people who have been overcharging us, selling us stale bread and bad meat and wilted vegetables. And they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they've ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it's Arabs; very few black people own these stores."

But you did have to dig down to find that one.

Ah well, I guess as in Animal Farm, to the press, some people are more equal than others.

You have to dig down?

You apparently missed the subtitle of the headline which reads;

Andrew Young leaves Wal-Mart media group
Move comes as civil rights icon apologizes for having said immigrant-run shops 'rip off' blacks.

Also, it talk's about the racist comments he made in the first sentence in the article. If you consider that having to "dig down", then you've got issues all of your own.

Where did I say either did not talk about the reason?  Maybe you missed "the headline"?

But then maybe I misquoted the headline.  Could you copy them for me?  just in case I did not?

What exactly was your point in saying this then?

But why did Andy resign? Hmmmm.....the title gives us no clue, but perhaps this will.

What was your point in general then?

Please re-read the headline. I fault neither Young or Gibson. They are just the catalyst. Not the story.

I didn't say that you were faulting either of them. I just don't see your beef with the media in this case. You imply that they were hiding the real reason for Young's resignation deep within the article, when that is not the case at all.

Wasn't exactly the sensational headline either.
