Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Ok, they have not.  But a question.  Mostly for those who are quick to condemn Israel.

If Cuba did, what should be our response?  Seriously.  This is open to all nationalities.  What should America do?  Should we ignore them?  Even tho a few dozen people die?

Or should we retaliate?  And if so what should the retaliation be?

If A country (and Cuba is just the scapegoat as it is the closest and whackiest) decides to light up our sky with death.  What should the US do.

It is a good question.  And not like they dont have a history with us, right?

You raise a good point.

However, the liberal response would be this.

The poor Cubans have had a tough time because of U.S. sanctions, so they had no other option but to fire those missiles.

We should not retaliate because it will be the main recruiting tool for Cuban terrorists.

It really doesn't matter who is doing it, the liberals will use their same bs.

Yep, according to anyone that opposes what Israel is doing now, rockets from Cuba would be 'chickens coming home to roost'. Most people would completely support us retaliating, but any civilian casualties would be considered even worse than those in Lebanon because the poor old Cubans don't get to vote and can't help it they have a nutjob for a leader.

If they did with this one, they would be slaughtered at the polls.  By making it a US issue, they lose the rhetoric.  And the debate.

God you have gotten into a cynical mode.  But I will not argue.  I want you to be wrong.

I will not bet against it.

How I wish, we could turn it into a paradise resort & casino. It’s only a 2 hr boat ride from the keys. Half the Cubans in Miami would return home. Now you got my hopes up.

Dr. Guy, a very, very good post. Thanks.

Let me ask another question. Do the missles striking Haifa and other Israeli cities not qualify as weapons of mass destruction?

If the government of Lebanon can't control a heavily armed militia operating within it's borders, should that government remain in place?

Now that the question has been raised, we should act before they can fire them.

Besides, I really enjoy a good Cuban cigar.

Okay but did the Cuban government send these rockets or some radical extremist group that are located inside Cuba without authorization from the Cuban government?

Okay let's say a group of radical American's (some Timothy McVeigh types) decide to shoot a rocket into Canada. Does Canada have a right to bomb our country, take out civilians, airports etc.? Does the fact that they are wackos and outside of the mainstream matter then, if they are American?

The group of "radicals" as you phrase them are part of the government, have support of the people, and are supported by terrorist regimes (Iran). Yeah, they are just like a Timothy McVeigh.

So they are the official Lebanese Army. They are wearing a Lebanese army uniform. They recieve a government paycheck and equipment. The government has sanctioned their every move and they have their complete support. If they recieve orders to stand down they will immediately obey. Right?

As a Canadian, my response would be thus:

If the United States Government did everything in their power to capture and prosecute the group of radicals, then I'd say no. But if they claimed that the group were not radicals, but instead legitimate "resistance" fighters and left it at that, then I'd say "bombs away!"....that would be if we really had any.

Kupe: it goes beyond that. Hezbollah holds a place in the Lebanese government, and the Lebanese government didn't say that they were powerless to remove them, they called Hezbollah "legitimate resistance" and openly defied resolution 1559.

We can't even fall back to the place where we have to decide what they can and can't do. Even if they could, they've stated they wouldn't. To me, unfortunately, that makes them a terrorist regime no different than any other. We would be hypocrites to offer anything more to Lebanon than we do to Palestine.

They would rival the Indian Casinos.

That is 2, but I will take them both.  WMDs are usually pre defined as Biological, Chemical or Nuclear (not my definition, but that of the powers that be).  So while they are raining down mass destruction, I dont think the rest of the world (no, I know they would not) would qualify them as such.

If the government of Lebanon can't control a heavily armed militia operating within it's borders, should that government remain in place?

That is a good question.  But perhaps before we throw the baby out with the bathwater, the UN (Useless Nations in this case clearly) should be in there helping the government gain control of their wanton war lords.  Let the government decide.  Assistance or cease to exist.
