Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

I guess my blood is getting sweeter cause this time it took them ONE day to call me (I dont think they were open on the 4th when I became eligible).  I guess I am eligible.  After all, the blood my doctor has been sucking down does not count.

But one day after I am eligible?

I am wanted! (actually my wife hates my snoring, but then when I am not.......)

I hate the process, but do it because I can, and my blood type is needed.  I wish more could or would give.  I know many cant.  Since the Aids thing, they are very particular. Just ask Shadesofgrey.  So the pool is getting smaller, Yet the need grows as they do find more ways to find life saving surgeries for those previously relegated to the walking dead.  Some have Hep B and C,  And cannot.

Others have never tried, and I hope they do.

Others are prevented due to recent trips.  I hope they do not give up.

Me?  I will give next week.  If I dont, I will never hear the end of it!

Noble?  hardly.  Just one who can and does.  SO I dont get calls every day.

To paraphrase a commericial (American one for our Foreign friends)

"What is in your veins?"

Capital One!

I give every 8 weeks but I've got turned down the last two time because of my blood pressure

That is how I found out about hypertension.  And actually, I was turned down for Anemia (common on women, not on men)  and a subsequent total found a polyp (benign).  So other than hating the needles, I figure it has paid me back.

I give about every 3 months.. or close to that... the local Corpseman just tells me I'm able to give again so I do. I don't have one of those rare blood types, but just one of the really really common ones that they always seem to be able to use more of.

Dont you just love those friendly reminders?

Since I had dengue fever, they don't want my blood.

What is dengue fever?  And yes, the sad part is so many cannot give.

our posts were coming out at the same time so I missed San's post. Probably should just say "all" instead of using numbers.

Funny how blood bonds liberals and conservatives.  They tell me both our blood is red.

I had to go a year without donating the last time I had a tattoo done. They won't take it within a year of getting one done.

Better safe than sorry I suppose.

Dengue is a viral infection, similar in some ways to malaria in that it is carried by mosquitos. Once you get it, your red blood cells are sensitized to it. The second time, you hemorrhage like crazy.

It is also called bone-break fever because the bone and joint pain is so severe.

It is a shame, but with all the lawsuit happy lawyers, they can never be too careful.

Sorry Bluedev.  It sounds nasty.  Do the symptoms persist after the disease, or just the sensitivity?
