Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

I have had this credit card for over 10 years.  Closer to 15.  It was one of those unsolicited things you get, but the name grabbed my attention.  Harris Bank.  Why the name?  My boss at the time was named Cam Harris, and she is unquestionably one of the best I have ever had.  So it became my favorite one.

Over the years, the card limit was bumped and bumped and bumped.  Until it is one of those platinum cards with lots of credit.  But something happened on the way to Harris Bank.

They sold out.  MBNA bought them.  One of the reasons I liked Harris was that they bill was due in the second half of the month.  Every other bill I have, bar none, was due in the first half, so this was nice as I get paid twice a month.  But once MBNA bought them, the date crept up and up and up until now it is due the first week of the month.  And I just got the latest bill.

And it had 2 more charges from a scam company.  One of which I already disputed, and they did not contest.  but 2 more!  The last time, I got into a pissing contest with a total jerk.  Who when I told him to put on his supervisor finally decided to play nice.  Since MBNA has taken them over, this card has gone to hell in a hand basket!

So I called them again today and told them to get those charges removed as I am not doing business with this Nigerian scam artist, and we have not received ANY merchandise from them, and yes I have called the company.  I am awaiting their call back (for the last 2 months).

And I cancelled the card.  This time I had a nicer rep, and she wanted to know why.  So I told her.  The whole ugly truth.  I hope they do suspend these charges, because I am not paying them.  So if they do not, that is their loss.  My credit record can take their pissant hit on it and frankly my dear, I dont give a damn any more.

I get several credit card offers weekly.  Piss on me, and I will go elsewhere.  I already have another of this cards cards from another company.  I also have one of their Other cards that is going to get Cancelled tomorrow.

MBNA flat out sucks on service.  And I dont have to take it any more.  Nor am I going to even try.

I will call my other company tomorrow and see if they will bump my limit (it is ok, but not great) so that should my wife and I go on that European Vacation, we can CHARGE IT! (As Betty and Wilma would say).

We have been discussing it.  It has been 30 years for me, and about 15 for her.  Need to show her German Hospitality!

When depends upon my sons schedule (under his mother's control this year).  But Germany?  Ja Sicherlich!  They are the most friendly nation over there based upon my experience.

Really??

Having lived there for 11 years (and been back on business multiple times) I've fallen in love with the country (just not enough to immigrate). I'd love to go back and take the family, but ... meh, it's just not in the cards right now.

Wonderful place. Great food. Great people. Even the slightly more dour people from the eastern side.

Now, the folks in Bavaria? Oy vey! Great folks. Friendly and welcoming as could be.

Germans do not have blood.  They get a transfusion of beer shortly after puberty.

I lived in Frankfurt, but actually travelled through east Germany back in the 70s.  I would say they looked guarded then, not dour.  But as we were not allowed to talk to them, I could not say.
