Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Ever have them?  The ones that just wont let go and have to constantly harp on an irrelevant point?  You know, the ones that constantly remind you that you are A personality.  Or that at one time you actually {shock} voted for Carter or such?

They are kind of like the Penguin in Batman the Movie.  you know the Harp from hell?  But they exist. They just cannot let sleeping dogs lie.  SO they constantly harp from hell!  SO what do we do?  We ignore them. We all have our harpies from hell.  But the ultimate revenge is that we can ignore them, and that just pisses them off more!

How do I know?  By the response of this article will get in the forums.  They will either respond with a pity pat article, or since I called their stupidity, they will ignore it.  The fun is on me.  Since I was first, there is nothing they can say in their defense.  Other than "I will not do it again".  But since they are harpies from hell, they will not do that.  So they will simply stew and simmer for a day or 2 and then write a scathingly irrelevant article that has nothing to do with the accusation, but tries to gig the writer.

Fine by me.  gig me!  I dare you!  And stop being a total jerk and picking on others that are not controversial.  But I guess they don't know how to pick on ones their own size.

tata!  Have fun.  And get your jollies doing your Voodoo that you do so well.  And picking on others just as a Bully does.

Feel proud!

Huh?

"In a speech in San Diego in 1970, then Vice President Spiro Agnew used the phrase "nattering nabobs of negativism" to describe supposed intellectuals who attacked American policy.  "Natter" is defined as "to nag, to find fault peevishly," and a "nabob" is "a native provincial deputy or governor of the old Mogul empire in India; a native district ruler in India" or "European who has become rich in India" or "a very rich man"   (Websters New Universal Unabridged Dictionary, Deluxe Second Edition).  Agnew's  speech writers undoubtedly put the terms together because of their alliterative value, but the phrase does paint an interesting although unpleasant word picture of a self-important person nagging and criticizing everyone else."

this from a Google search for an unfamiliar ( to me) term.  Muy interesante!

...so... this is ignoring them? According to the above, this is exactly the kind of thing they love. If they ignore it, does that mean that they are treating you like a nattering nabob?

Huh?

Just an observation of life in the 21st century.  And earlier

The origin of a statement often gets lost in antiquity.  But it is fun to know it.  Thanks for the explanation.

Sure.  How many names did I mention?  This could apply to a lot, to which I would respond with Carly Simon's "Your so Vain".  Explaining a sympton is not catering to those suffering from it.

Thanks for the explanation.

dear gentleman: YOU didn't need the explanation, I did! so I shared it in case others hadn't heard it either, like me

Actually, I knew about the whole saying, but could not remember who coined it.
