This is actually not about my mother. She is a great woman, and I do love her, But she is Wonder Woman, and raised 7 children virtually by herself. She is a great woman.
No, this is about my Godmother. My heroine, my inspiration, and for the mentally handicapped (the ones with no physical handicaps parking in the handicap spaces) the reason for your Keying.
She is in the hospital. It is not serious as in life and death, but serious for her. She has a torm bicep. Which for you and me gets some great sympathy as we strut around with our arm in a sling. But for her, parayzed since the age of 15 from Polio, it is very serious!
Paralyzed from 15? Yep!
And in the last almost 60 years what has she done? Raised 4 kids almost by herself (birthed them too!) (My Mother and her sisters are not good judges of men, so you know if she says I am ok, get another opinion). Was my godmother and inspiration! My mother was busy with 6 others. She has her favorites, and us nons understand and accept that now. but my godmoter? She had 4 of her own, yet always found time for me!
All 4 are doing great on their own. Having a great role model. A role model that even my mother pales in comparison to. And no matter how bad I was (and I was bad) or what I did wrong, she always was there with wisdom and kindness. She in effect became my mother.
I called her Saturday. She is doped up (or was). But she still had her angelic wisdom and love around her. This is a woman who got not only kicked in the teeth, but stomped on! And she never stomped back.
She is my inspiration. And I know for her children, my cousins, she is as well. We will never be put down, for we have not suffered a mote compared to her. You will never hear of my Aunt and Godmother like you hear of Mother Teresa. But each in their own way are as great. For each did the impossible.
Thank you godmother! For being my guidance when I thought I had it rough. Never condemning, always supporting. And always loving. Bless you.
