Well, we know that Souter's home was saved. Why? What a waste.
But now states and localities, red and blue are passing laws at a furious pace. Trying to stop the Kelo Decision from being enacted. The latest is in Florida. Where a family, living in a house for 34 years is in danger of being evicted so a developer, not the government, can build some Condos. And they are fighting it.
Are they wishing to "stick it to the man". Actually no, they are hoping for a ruling of misconduct (as in not following procedures) so that a recently passed law will supercede the city's attempt to boot them out.
I wish them well. For in this case, the SCOTUS really screwed up. It is not about "what is not enumerated belongs to the Government" but "what is not enumerated belongs to the people". It boggles the mind that while some of the loons on the extreme left cannot understand that, at least the sane on both right and left do, and fear that unless this is stopped, Property ownership, as we know it, will cease to exist.
May the best Machs win! And god save this country if it persists.
