Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Ok, now you now.  I love Star Trek!  The original, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.  I miss it too, as well as the 10 movies.

But watching TNG (I have a stupid chest cold so am taking vicks cough drops and staying away from my co workers), they are on the Second season of TNG.  And I hate Diane Muldaur!  Excuse me Dr. Kate Pulaski!  She is the worst actor/actress on any of the series bar none!  How could they have done such a boner to get her!  I thought I was rid of her when she fell down the empty elevator shaft on LA Law! (Oops, that was a stunt double.  DAMN!).

So who is your worst character in the Star Trek Genre?  You can pick any of them and tell us why!  Just dont tell me you love Diane Muldaur!  Gaaaaggggg!

I agree that Diane Muldaur was a big mistake. Was Gates McFadden on maternity leave? And yes I was thrilled with the whole LA Law elevator shaft thing as well.
I really could not get into Deep Space Nine. I tried. No go. Everything annoyed me. I particularly disliked Odo. I generally like Rene Aubergenois (I hope I spelled it right). He was just too gruff for the normally effete to pull off.

Let me take this in 2 parts.  I dont know, was Gates?  I may not be the trekie I thought I was!  And yes, why could the elevator thing not been the end of her!  Leland deserved better (altho at the end, he was bad).

Dont ask me on spelling!  But I did love Odo.  And I will admit that once Rodenberry died, they really killed DS9!  It was so good before they had to start that stupid war!  After that, it was lousy.  And that was what killed enterprise as well.  Star trek was never about "war". It was about discovery!  That is what made it so great.  Even the bad parts.

Ah well, I miss Gene.

Yes, I think Gates was in fact on leave. And I agree about Muldaur.

I like Odo, I think he's a great charactor and Rene did a good job on him.
I really didn't like Picard at first, but he grew on me. Stewart is an excellent actor, it was the charactor I didn't like at first.

Katherine Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) is the one I still can't stand.

so do I,  That's like Disneyland and stuff going downhill since Walt died.

I can't stand that guy that plays the part of Q,  I don't know the names of the actors.  Although I loved Doohan ( Scotty).

Ding! Ding! Ding!

it is really.  Star Trek without Gene is like Disneyland without walt!  Very insightful!

WOW!

yea on most of them.  Patrick I loved in the Avengers, and he was ok as Piquard.    But Janeway?  Yea, she grated!  It was Tuvoc that carried that show.  He was so good!

Ah well, now we can pick the worst and the best!  At least for the next 20 years.  I hope it is not that long, but, I can wait.

I was never a huge trekkie, but I can remember rushing home with my brother from church on Sunday afternoons back in the late eighties to watch TNG. I loved Picard. It's what caused me to respect Patrick Stewart as an actor.
There was a girl I was dating for awhile that was way into Voyager (she felt the woman captain and all was . . . um . . . empowering or something.) We would get in friendly disagreements about it. I told her TNG was the best that Star Trek ever was and the best it ever would be, and she would extol the virtues of Voyager. I'm still not a Janeway fan, though . . .

Other than that, Star Trek was never my cup of tea. I liked it, but the sterile idea of the future never flew very well with me. That's why I was such a fan of Firefly - I'm afraid that's how things are going to be, a lot grittier - less about exploration and more about scraping a way through the 'verse.

In truth probably so, but then that's what makes fantasy fantasy.

And why we can dream.  After all dreams are not reality.  They are our wishes.

"De-Lurking" I can't believe nobody has mentioned Neelix yet. Hands down the most annoying grating character in just about the history of television. And I am still having nightmares about that episode where he and Tuvok get combined by the transporter to become Tuvix. Just the stuff of lovecraftian horror. Janeway comes in a close second. Followed by Kim. Followed by Chakotay. Getting the impression that I hated Voyager? Favorite characters would probably be Bashir, O'brien, Sisko and of course, Picard. And everybody from the original show. Didn't hate Pulaski as much because I loved that era of Next Generation, but she was kind of annoying, especialy the way she was constantly trying to prove that Data wasn't a real person, like she had nothing else better to do. Must stop talking about Star Trek now or will never stop. "Re-Lurking"

I don't love Everything Star Trek, but did watch original, TNG, and Voyager. I couldn't stand Riker. And believe me, I tried to like him, but I just didn't get him. Smarmy.
