Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Julian Bond, head of the NAACP recently Spoke at Fayettevill State University.  IN his speech he made the following statements:

"The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side," he charged.

He referred to former Attorney General John Ashcroft as J. Edgar Ashcroft. He compared Bush's judicial nominees to the Taliban.

characterizing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, as "tokens."

Instead, the only reports in the old media, one by the Fayetteville Observer http://www.fayettevillenc.com/article?id=225604  and one by a local TV Station http://rdu.news14.com/content/school_news/?AC=&ArID=79952&SecID=136 merely noted his address without reporting the insane and hateful rhetoric.

One has to wonder why the MSM is either A: Protecting a hate monger, or B: protecting an idiot.

Or is it that his speech did not fit with their bias?

Censured is one thing, convicted is another

Admonished is not censured either.  Davad lost, but like a sore loser, he cant give up the bone.

Attorney General(Woman) is akin to making coffee? Link

Get off that kick!  Women are not minorities and not by and in of them selves another race!  You stretch too far, and I noticed how you avoided the issue as well.

Ok, You carry Janet Reno's Banner!  Someone has to and as I understand it, even Hillary does not want to touch her!

lame again davad!  Very lame!  Are you going to pull another disappearing act when asked to produce?

Tis ok.  I understand that is a liberal thing.

First of all davad, you're purposely confusing things. Please stop it.
All I meant was that Bush gave more ~~very important~~ posts to minorities than Clinton, which is true.
I really don't care who was doing the little stuff for him (of which, by the by, minorites were well included; the head of the kitchen staff was, indeed, a black woman. I'm sure he gets "diversity points" from you for this that Bush wouldn't get for having two black SoS, for example. They're just tokens, right? Uncle Toms?).

And Doc is right.....women don't count, no matter how hard you push. There are more women in the world than men; that makes them a majority.

Like a true liberal, though, you stuff words in people's mouths that you know you can refute. Please stop.

Very astute!  I will have to give you a cookie tomorrow.  I used all mine on Doc Miler!

Dr. Guy, if you really believe that Abramoff didn't break any House rules, than what's all the fuss about? Why are we re-writing lobbying rules?

Are you aware of the ethics rules surrounding lobbyist activities on the Hill? Abramoff broke every last one of them, and did so blatantly. He's making life miserable for many people in DC--simply because he did not think that he had to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Women are not minorities

When it comes to hiring them into influential positions on government, they are.

At least Doc knows what he wrote, you apparently do not know what you wrote and ASKED for.

I want you to tell me how many important, policy-making positions Clinton filled with blacks and women, not just peripheral ones. I don't give a rat's behind who the kitchen staff was or who made copies or ran to get his coffee.

As Doc would say, "how's that leather taste"?

And with the exception of the Surgeon General, every person I listed is a Cabinet member, and every one of them is a policy making position.

I replied with what you asked for and now you say I'm trying to confuse you?

What words did I stuff into your mouth?

Are you going to answer this time, or are you going to act like a coward like you did when you said members of the military need defended from people like me, and then wouldn't even explain what you meant by that when I asked you?

Sorry, I don't think I saw this....what I meant by that was the negative attitude you and those like you seem to have as concerning the war.
As a former soldier yourself, you of all people should know how this could affect morale. But then, I don't know that you were ever in a combat situation, so maybe you wouldn't.

Look, maybe it'll help if I say this:

Sec. of State is one thing, Dept. of Ed., Transportsation, HUD or some other position is another. Which has more overall responsibility? Which one gets the most attention and ink? Which does more for the overall "image" of blacks in government? A job that makes everday, blase policy for the country, or a job that speaks for the country as a whole? That's where I was going.

That's fine if you want to qualify the question further like that, but don't go asking for something specific (tell me all blacks and women) and then say I'm stuffing words in your mouth.

That's right, as a former soldier I do know how things "could" affect morale. Obviously I can't speak for all soldiers, only for me and the ones I served with. I can tell you that we didn't give a rat's ass whether everyone in the country agreed with where the powers that be decided to send us. We had a job to do and we did it.

Only members of the house can break the rules.  That is why they have an ethics committee.  Abramoff broke the law.

When it comes to hiring them into influential positions on government, they are.

So are White males - in the NBA.  You can always define a subset to prove a point, but that does not make it universally true.

Thank you.

What it comes down to is that minorities have made great strides of late, under both Democrat and Republican presidents.  Period.

We had a job to do and we did it.

And for that we all thank you.
