Ann Coulter - Love Her or Hate her

What is so wrong with letting her speak?

Seems that the loons, or in this case just hypocrites, were out in force at the University of Connecticut. Ann Coulter was giving a speech, but decided to stop and do a question and answer session after a bunch of hypocritical students decided that freedom of speech only applies to people who agree with them.

In what has to be the stupidest statement of any mental midget, Eric Knudsen, wasting money by attending any college, said:

"We encourage diverse opinion at UConn, but this is blatant hate speech,"

No stupid, what you did was hate speech. She was merely expressing her opinions, ones you evidently dont agree with, but are not smart enough to engage in an open debate about either.

But I do love Ann's comeback:

"I love to engage in repartee with people who are stupider than I am,"

What else can you say to mental midgets? Descriptive, accurate and to the point, without being hateful or obscene! I wonder if Eric even realizes how stupid he sounds, or how badly he was just dissed?

Very true. But then Conservatives dont act much like the dictionary term either.

But I was always under the impression that McCarthy was a rabid anti communist, and not just doing it as an attention getter.

As more and more information comes out about him from people who worked with him, his private correspondences and other pieces of evidence, it appears more and more likely that he used the threat of Communism during the aftermath of the Hiss case to push himself into the political forefront.

Self-destructed after going after the army, censured and ended up drinking himself to death.... hmmmm. The irony is... she is sort of attacking a potential base for her... young potential voters.

I actually was referring to the recall part. But she is also alienating the democrat base, which is needed if she wants to run for president.

Guy, would you consider abandoning name-calling as a debate technique?

I might not be following Dr. Guy's debating style as closely as you, but I don't recall ever having seen him use name-calling in a debate, let alone bringing it to a level where he would do it so often than not doing it could be called abandonment of a technique.

He is referring to my articles, which in the politicsl arena, are editorials. And in them, I do use plenty of perjorative terms. I will not appologize or change that. Stute wants me to report the news. I link to the reported news, but my job, and/or hobby, is not to report the news. My Hobby is to editorialize on it (along with writing other things that I am sure Stute has never read as he must be a political junkie).

As for the comments, I am usually very civil, except to anon trolls. Unless or until I am attacked. Then I merely respond in kind. Having not used the perjorative in the first place, I feel the attacker has lost the argument and seeks only to degrade me. Since they are such poor debaters, they fail, and I have no reservations about telling them how bereft in gray matter they are.
