Ode to Brad and Stardock
Published on October 25, 2005 By Dr Guy In Blogging

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that JoeUser used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those bloggers dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But October made me shiver
With every twitter JU delivered.
Bad news on the doorstep;
JU couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about Mason's ride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the Joeuser died.

So bye-bye, Free IceCream Ride.
Drove my Gateway to the Entray,
But the Entray was shy.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ Molson and lye
Sayin’, "this’ll be the day that JU dies.
"this’ll be the day that JU dies."

Did you write the blog of love,
To find that it is now in God above,
If the CPU tells you so?
Do you believe in Blogs and trolls,
Can JoeUser save your mortal poll,
And can you teach me how to comment slow?

Well, I know that you’re in love with Brad
`cause I saw you Bloggin’ Just for him.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those Humor and Policlues.

I was a lonely blogger writin fool
With a very high stature and a blog so cool,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the JoeUser died.

I started crying’,
"bye-bye, my Joeuser Site."
Drove my Gateway to the Entray,
But the Entray was shy.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ Molson and lye
Sayin’, "this’ll be the day that JU dies.
"this’ll be the day that JU dies."

Now for ten hours we’ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a trollin’ gnome,
But that’s not how it used to be.
When the Zoomba sat on the Humor king,
In a voice he created on a fling
And inspiration that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the T-Man was looking down,
The Brad pushed that button down.
The Stardock was Concerned;
No accusation was discerned.
And while Champas read a book of marx,
Bakerstreet illuminated the dark,
And we sang dirges for the quark
That brought JoeUser down.

Hither, Thither in the Autumn Blizzard.
The blogs fell off like scales on a lizzard,
Eight backups gone and failing fast.
Cordelia screamed and Karma flashed.
The admins tried for for one last gasp,
With Ted on the sidelines all aghast.

Now the backup room was stale perfume
While the admins tried another rhune.
We all got up to Moan,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the trolls tried to take the site;
The T-Man, et. al refused to bite.
Do you recall they won the night
The day the JoeUser died?

I started crying’,
"bye-bye, my Joeuser Site."
Drove my Gateway to the Entray,
But the Entray was shy.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ Molson and lye
Sayin’, "this’ll be the day that JU dies.
"this’ll be the day that JU dies."

Oh, and there we were all in one state,
A community lost in to date
With no time left to backup blogs.
So come on: Brad be Humble, T-Man be slick!
T-Man lit that restore quick
Cause backups always have logs.

Oh, and as we watched Joeuser while
From backup tapes and admin guile.
No admin born of man
Could do it better again!
And as the blogs climbed high into the site
We All practiced our sacrificial rite,
I saw Draginol laugh with delight
The day the Joeuser died

I started crying’,
"bye-bye, my Joeuser Site."
Drove my Gateway to the Entray,
But the Entray was shy.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ Molson and lye
Sayin’, "this’ll be the day that JU dies.
"this’ll be the day that JU dies."

I met a girl who wrote the clues
of Happiness and good life news,
But she just smiled and said ok.
I went down to the sacred site
To try my luck with all my might
And the man there said fine, go play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
The site was back and was not broken
Just some comments left unspoken
And the three men I admire most:
The Mano, Miler and MM most,
They caught the last blog on the post
The day the Joeuser died.

I started crying’,
"bye-bye, my Joeuser Site."
Drove my Gateway to the Entray,
But the Entray was shy.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ Molson and lye
Sayin’, "this’ll be the day that JU dies.
"this’ll be the day that JU dies."

Hilarious account of what could have been forever considered "That fateful night"... Now none of us have to be sidelined (unless we wanna be)!!!

I could not figure out how to make Parated scan, so I just used Ted.  Since Brad posted his article about what happened, it had been running around in my head all day!

I hope you dont mind.  I used you because your name fit, I dont think you are a commie, just a leftie, and putting Maso in there would just not work.

Good job Doc.

Thank you!  I am not as original as you tho!  That takes a lot of creativity!

Thank you!  Even us conservatives can get creative given the right circumstances!

Thanks Udigit.  You have too many syllables in your name, or you would have been here too.

Doc this is simply outstanding. I couldn't help it. While reading this the original song was running through my head. BTW, thanks for the mention.

Running through your head?  I had this written before I even started typing (almost!).  Brad started the echo with his explanation!

And on the mention, that was easy!  It just flowed and I picked the big 3 (trinity you know. )
