I have a registered Sex Offender next door

Just came upon this link, and found out a neighbor (not an immediate one, but one behind me) is a sex Offender! That is really scary. But at least the site showed him to me.

His crime? Indecent liberties with Child by Custodian. I guess that means he did it to his kids.

We have one several blocks down. I showed my 9 year old his picture several times and we walked by his house one day and I told him all about it.....but I've preached private parts and strangers to him since he was 2 so he listened but wasn't too amazed.

Great idea! My son likes to look at the Victoria Secrets catalog, so I dont think I need to talk to him about private parts. But showing him the picture is what I plan to do, and also the house.

Not sure about "indecent liberties." That sounds more like walking around naked or something. Usually when it is sodomy, rape, sexual assault, etc., they call it that. The only person I found in a quick search had asked a kid to pull his pants down, and another had take pictures of a child naked.

I have 28 in my zip code at present, most of them violent, oddly enough. I think the apartments a couple of miles away are a dumping ground for some parole officer. The guy that lived two streets over from me was run off by his neighbors, and then got arrested for not reporting that he moved, lol. Warms my heart.

He used to walk his dog around the time school let out. It makes me physically ill to think about it.

The site only gives the categories. Not the actual offense.

Damn shame. Once you have been convicted I think they need to list the circumstances of each offense in harsh detail, so that patterns of behavior can be established. If someone lured kids in a particular way, we need to know what to watch for.

In the meantime we'll just have to be nasty to them in blanket fashion, huh?

I've got 7 of them, all living within 6 miles of me...one is under 2 miles away on the road where my girlfriend lives...that makes me a little nervous...

There were a lot living within that range of me as well, but I was most concerned with the red square was sitting ontop of my house! None of the others are actually in the neighborhood - just close by.

Not sure about "indecent liberties."

That covers a multitude of sins. The last guy we court martialed for pedophilia had 'indecent liberties with a minor' as one of his charges (one of MANY charges) and it was because he had taken photos of himself masturbating and ejaculating on her. Sorry if that's too much info....but as you said, I think that we need to start putting the details of EXACTLY what these assholes did to their victims next to their photographs.

Having been privy to the details of a few trials involving pedophiles, I have to say that they disgust me more than any other group of people on the face of the earth - and given my spiritual philosophy it really pains me to say that.

I have more tolerance for a crack addict than I do a child molestor.

I have pity for a crack addict. I dont even destest them. I cannot say the same for a pedophile.
