Democrats Endorse Bush

"Considering the Lone Star Iconoclast endorsement of Senator Kerry - September 30th, 2004"

This should come as no surprise to anyone whose has ever read the Iconoclast newspaper. The reported circulation of the Iconoclast is 425-450 subscribers. The only surprise to us is that people have not canceled their subscription before now. As far as we can tell, the Iconoclast's operations are in Clifton, Texas, about 25 miles from Crawford. Having the freedom to express an opinion and have people disagree with you is one of the rights most precious to us as Americans. However, words have consequences. We dropped our subscription to the Iconoclast several years ago because of the venom expressed in the editorials. This endorsement has been widely reported as a feather in the hat of John Kerry. We, as true residents of Crawford and the owners of CrawfordTX.com, do not agree with the editorial and know most of the people in Crawford feel the same way. The true endorsement of the Presidential candidates will be seen at the polling place on November 2nd in the town of Crawford, Texas.

as for the "home town paper", the Boston Globe would be his hometown paper, not some conservative junk paper with 5,000 readers.

You started out well, and would have stayed that way, except for that raving hicks comment!

The idea was funny, yet you take it too seriously. Let it go. Each one had 'a' home town paper go against them. And no, the Boston Globe does not count, unless you count the Wasthington Times as a home town paper to half of the east coast.

In 1972 when Kerry started his political career he lived in Lowell Mass. It is currently a town of over 100,000 and the Sun (paper which endorsed Bush) has a circulation of over 50,000.

Folks....The vast majority of "endorsements" dont add up to a pile of dogcrap in the end. The only thing that determines who gets the job is the VOTE. I can think of lots of elected officials who got a load of endorsements form other politicians, newspapers, authors, and business people, and what happened.....they LOST!

This is the problem with the whole election process people....We have turned into a bunch of sheep who look to others to tell us who we should vote for. IGNORE the hype, vote with your conscience, not your TV or newspaper!

My dogs object to that! Seriously though, I agree. Our local paper just endorsed Kerry, then went on to criticize him for "having a Senate record of little distinction and less to indicate he can make good on the many promises he has made during the campaign season". Huh? (obviously they some good things to say, our editorial department is split on this 50/50)

I wouldn't have even mentioned the paper endorsement were it not for sandy2's comment which created an opportunity for some irony and humor (as I saw it).
