Quoting verbatim: "Oooh lets wish him well. Let's hope for a speedy recovery." BULLSHIT. I hope the guy has a serious illness that doesn't kill him, but lays him just low enough to linger until we have a Democratic president take office in 09, THEN he can take his well-deserved dirt nap. These people are evil, corrupt, ruthless tools of corporate america and they will stop at nothing to grant their masters all manner of legal goodies via the Supreme Court at the expense of average workin...

It has long been averred by some that all abortion should be legal, to protect the life of the woman.  So much so that the partial birth abortion was argued that way in court, even though no doctor of any repute could demonstrate that the particular procedure was safer than the full birth of the baby. One such advocate of abortion on demand has been Planned Parenthood.  Of this organization, one of the more esteemed members of the JU community has documented some troubling informati...

In yet another example of how blogdom is calling the MSM to task, Time recently ran a hit piece.  Basically it was a 1975 story about Saigon in 1973 type of story.  And they splashed a graphic on the cover to show how Iraq was so Vietnamish! Problem is, they dont know their hind from their Apache.  For in the graphic, attempting to show America jumping out of Iraq, they used not an American Helicopter pulling the A out of Iraq, but a Hind Gun ship!  And what do th...

Last Thursday, the Circus came to town.  Usually we are not regaled with Barnum and Bailey until February.  But this was not that circus.  This was a media circus.  In every sense of the word. They closed down 2 streets.  News Trucks were lined up corner to corner.  The Animals were on parade.  All for what?  For a non-story. For those just emerging from a cave in Antarctica, Michael Vick was charged with Animal cruelty.  For pitting dogs in dog...

The infamous fifth amendment, besides being used by many to not "self incriminate", also contains a section that is just as important, if rarely quoted: nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law Now what is "Due Process"?  The sixth amendment addresses that in part: to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, This se...

In yet another example of how some think that only the value of their ideas and words are worthy of dissemination, Betty Williams - a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, wants to kill George Bush.  It would be funny if the joke was not so stale by now of others with a lesser claim to fame, calling for the exact same thing. The Nobel Peace prize is supposed to represent the ideal of bringing peaceful settlement to conflicts.  It is supposed to be won by people that promote peaceful alternati...

Lately we have been regaled on the many facets of terrorim and terrorists.  What it is and who they are.  We know that Mohammed Atta and bin Laden are.  And many accept that Timothy McVeigh is one as well.  Along with Eric Rudolph.  And others that we can determine picked an indiscrimiante target that had nothing to do with their perceived injustice. But recently, I was informed that the Branch Davidians of Waco were Terrorists.  Huh? Now I will grant you that...

This is freaking unbelievable! This was taken off of the front page of Foxnews!  Eerily reminiscent of 13 years ago! At least the OJ parade was about a newsworthy event! (a murder).  This is just stupid!

I read the headlines, and my first response was ---- WTF!!!!  Now some namby pamby Paris Hilton wanna bees are going too far!  This is just plane (pun intended) stupid!  Planes fly over head every day almost in every area of the US!  I grew up in the shadow of NAS, and we had those boom busters all the time!  It became a fact of life.  I guess if they had been on a bombing or strafing run, I would have been a bit concerned, but come on!  Diverting planes for an...

They are supposed to be all about Human rights and such.  But lately they have shown that they are just a bunch of juvenile delinquents, pasting graffiti and making idiotic pictures instead of worrying about the genocide that does not seem to be abating, no matter how hard the UN does not try to correct it. Who am I talking about?  Look at the graphic and enjoy the fact that some people just cant seem to grow up. "Not Child Like, Childish!" - Captain Hildrebrand, M*A*S*H 1973 ...

The Feds finally (as in why did they not do this 4 years ago?) caught up with the person they think is responsible for a large part of the growing spam problem (and we are not talking the stuff that comes from pigs). Robert Soloway, who was (is?) living a life of luxury on the backs of zombie computers that send out millions of spam messages daily was arrested and 4 of his accounts (they seem to think he has many more) seized, and hopefully his enterprise shut down.  I say hopefully sinc...

Based upon some examples, not time management or personal responsibility.  From UMass, we get this petulant tripe: This Andrew Card fiasco is really beginning to get on my nerves. I've had to spend the last couple of weeks attending meetings and rallies, as well as signing petitions to try to convince you that your decision (rather, your recommendation to the Board of Trustees) to award a prominent war criminal an honorary degree was "wrong." I have schoolwork to do, I have a new baby ...

One last one for the road since it is no longer current.  But I was struck (No, I am not going to sue) by a thought. While I am not a trekkie (others may disagree), I am a die hard Trek Fan.  I think the best was the original, but TNG was good.  As was DS9 for part, and Voyager for most.  Enterprise.......... let's just say I watch it in reruns. But I think I have found the difference.  Why do I like the older episodes?  And tolerate the newer ones? Gene...

Some of us have been reading about how bad the fires are down in Georgia and Florida.  And California.  ut not being there, it often takes on a surrealism that we dont associate with.  Until something hits home. Here is a letter from my Aunt.  Apparently it is a lot worse than we have been hearing (and why is the MSM JUST talking about Catalina???) The smoke is really bad here in Tarpon Springs.  Visibility is less than 1/4 mile.  They have closed the courth...

if you don't know what this lottery about, you are too late.  This morning at 9am, the grand and glorious Commonwealth of Virginia (vs a state for you other 45 schmoes) raffled off 54 tickets for the grandest prize in the last 4 centuries (well to some it probably is). These lucky 54 people, and a companion, will get to meet and greet Queen Elizabeth II.  When she comes to celebrate the quadricentenial of the founding of Jamestown this Thursday.  She is going to meet at the old...
