Today we had an article by one blogger wondering how a certain comic gets paid.  In the comments, another blogger defended the comic with the following rationale.

I say if the point of tax cuts is to stimulate the economy, give them to the poor people.  They know how to spend.  Rich people will just put it in a mutual fund.  That might help the rich people but it doesn't help the economy like a new TV or game system purchase will.  Okay I should be nice and say a car ...

We hear many go on about how many is destroying the earth through pollutants that create global warming.  And that unless we do "something" about it, we are all going to die.  We hear a lot of that.

But let me ask a question.  If we could eliminate global warming gasses AND maintain our current lifestyle, would that be the edenic solution?  The be all and end all?

Seems like it would be for me.  But this is not the case with the loons that want us to believe their ...

In what can only be described of another example of political correctness gone stupid (as if the movement itself was not example enough of that), San Jose State University has banned all blood drives.  Is the why even important? (Because the FDA prohibits gay people from donating.)

Now personally I think the ban is stupid.  And should they want to demonstrate against it, write letters to congressmen/women or call the clowns who make the rules boobs, I will be on the front lines with...

JDKeepsmiling had a question.  Is the current rush to pass a stimulus package going to work?

Good question.  While I am not going to mail my check back (unfortunately, since I am "rich" I wont get the full amount), is it what is really needed?  That was his question.  And a good one.

For me, the answer is simple (and I said so on his blog).  No.

But this morning, while doing housework and listening to the radio (I am domesticated. ), I heard a caller nail it.&n...

It has been one of those weeks.  On a day that most "government" employees have off, I am working.  Partially through my own choice, and partially due to one of the few companies that have not outsourced their help desk - but probably should.

Given I have to deal with idiots that masquerade as technical people day in and day out, I am developing a very low tolerance for dealing with them when I am PAYING for a service.  Or as the case is today, non-service.  And I am reall...

I think Brad wrote an article a while back on how bad the level of economic education was in this country.  And recently one of our more notable members had an article on politics and Gas prices (  The article itself was a good one, but the comments were more enlightening, and sad at the same time.

The author was lamenting that the leader of the free world (for us egotistical Americans) had to go to other countries with Hat in han...

I was perusing JU this morning and saw an article by Jilluser and thought - someone else had heard what I did!  But alas, her article was on another idiocy, not this one.  No, this one does not follow on Alicia Silverspoon, or Reese Witherspoon.  This one is purely the idiots that are supposed to be providing the news.

I say supposedly because of late, I have not seen much news being reported - beyond a kindergarten level.  This morning on Good Morning America (or one of t...

Careful kiddies!  You are no longer allowed to use the English language in certain schools as the brain dumb administrators have decided that speaking English is verboten!

In the latest episode of colossal stupidity on the part of school administrators, a student was suspended for using the "N" word!  *Gasp* Say it ain't so Joe!

It ain't.  His felony?  He said he knew how to make a noose, but declined to do so.  And for that he was suspended for 10 days!  So n...

While it should not have been necessary, I do not fault the Mormon Church from issuing these answers to questions about their faith.  Most of JU (who are much wiser and learned than the average citizen anyway) probably already knew most of the answers to the questions posed, thanks to Ted and his fellow members of faith at JU.

But in reading the questions and answers, I was struck by a Presidential press conference.  It can be any president, and almost any conference, for it was not...

It seems that one of the indoctrinators of youth, failing to make a point and confining non-like minded individuals to re-education camps, has decided that dishonesty is the best policy.

In order to make a local conservative group look bad, he posted a message on the boards under their name praising the Columbine killers.  Not secure enough in his own beliefs, this "enlightened" member of the new leadership decided that he had to defame the owners of a site whose apparent crime wa...

The latest episode of a man gone crazy was in Nebraska.  The story is all too familiar as it has been done several times before.  What struck me about this case (and actually ones in the past) was his last statement.  "Now I'll be famous".  And perhaps in his own demented mind, that is all he was seeking.

But do we have to give him that fame?  The first time it happened, many many years ago, it was scandalous.  The 100th time it happens, it is still news, ...

One of my "windmills" that I joust at is the stupidity of Zero Tolerance.  I have written more articles than I care to think of on the subject pointing out that School Administrators - as a group, appear to be brain dead, and nothing more than automatons.  Having worked in the field for over 10 years, I saw it first hand.  Don't get me wrong.  I am not talking about all educators.  Indeed, I found most teachers (definitely not all) to be highly competent and caring - and...

I was a consultant for 13 years (technically I am now, but my check comes from the same source as my client, so it is not the same).  During that time, I had a few occasions where my loyalty was put to the test.

Did I owe the client the honest truth? Without their trust in me, I would be out of a job.  They hired me for my expertise, and trusted my decisions.

Did I owe my company?  In other words, when the truth went against my company, did I "sit down and shut up"?

It seems that Moderateman's favorite city is up to it again.  This time not allowing the Marines to film a commercial on California Street.  Why only they know, and like the upstanding citizens they are, they are running away and not talking.

San Francisco has the right to deny the Marines.  A right that was created, and defended by the blood of many of those who are Marines brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers.  A right paid for by the sacrifice the selfless paid so tha...

The Headline Screamed: Is Dreamliner A Nightmare!

The subhead yelled: Is Boeing's new Baby a Boondoggle

And I was hooked!  Boeing's latest Jet has been getting a lot of press due to its radical nature of construction, and the fact it will revolutionize air travel if successful.  And since I do a lot, I was worried!  What was this fatal flaw?  What was this nightmare?

So I clicked on the link to read what I needed to be worried about......and was slammed first thing b...
