Yes, there is a warrant out for a kissing bandit!  AKA Richard Gere!  For kissing Shilpa Shetty on Indian TV!  I had heard that India was a very conservative society, and that their movies (Bollywood - the largest producer of Movies in the world) was very strict on its "sex" scenes, but did not realize that a peck on the cheek would warrant a crime! But apparently it does.  And I guess Mr. Gere is Persona non-Grata now in the triangle land. http://news.aol.com/topnews/art...

pu·ta·tive    Ever heard of the word before?  I had not before this week, but it is a real word.  Reputed.  That one has some negative overtones.  How about "supposed".  That one can have negative overtones, but is better.  The first seems to be the tamest.  "commonly regarded as".  But in this case, it is also the one that least fits the usage I encountered it in. Virginia is creating a Putative Fathers Registry.  We are not the firs...

No Mr. Baldwin.  I don't understand.  Nor do any of your rational friends.  Your tirade of your daughter is inexcusable!  Do you think, in that massive ego of yours, that you are the only parent that has been shafted and lied about during a custody battle?  No wonder your ego could not contain itself when you let your real self out on your daughter's voice mail!  While we all hope that custody battles are civil affairs, the ugly truth is that they rarely are.  ...

By now, we have all heard about the senseless tragedy that occurred at Va. Tech (or VPISU if you want the official name).  For most of us here on JU, it was something that the 24 hour news services had to play over and over and over again, even when there was nothing new to report.  That is not new (or news) as we have come to expect it, and most at JU could escape it by simply turning off the 24 hour News Channels. Not so in the Old Dominion, where we are subject to that coverage n...

The NY Times seems to have suffered an epiphany of sorts.  Long have they derided any calls to change Social Security, they now are basically taking up the banner of others when they report: By the same token, the ratio of workers to retired people will decline from about six to one now to about two to one by 2040. Breaking a lifelong promise and abruptly extending the retirement age would create another large class of malcontents. As a result, the government has been unable to re...

This weekend I had the enormous joy of doing my taxes.  I still lack one form, but have a good handle on the amount on it.  Still, there was not a lot of surprises this year on my taxes.  Until I got to the end.  Remember that "tax Credit" that we got for our children (only under 16)? (A euphemistic way of saying that you actually get to keep some money to assist in the cost of raising children.) Well, the clowns in DC have decided I don't get all of that credit.  Why...

Somethings are absolute.  In that no amount of pontificating, politicizing, or lying, can change them.  One is the law of Supply and Demand.  You can deny it, but it will prove you wrong every time. Another is the law of conservation of matter.  In other words, matter changes form, but the sum total (with minor exceptions) is not changed.  And so the supply of water - whether salt or fresh - is a constant. But now, We are supposed to believe that if global warming ...

A man lives in a moderate sized city.  Not big, but with plenty of options for buying his necessities. One of them is gas.  The place around the corner is advertising $2.30 a gallon.  WOW!  He says.  And he aims to go there.  But then a place 5 miles away advertises $2.25 a gallon.  Wow!  Save 5 cents a gallon!  So he drives 10 miles (5 up and back) to save 5 cents a gallon)!  He fills his 20 gallon tank and saves a buck.  The extra ...

The link is about a very bizarre and weird, and frightening tale.  About a divorce, where the mother (as usual) got custody of the couple's 3 daughters.  About a man, a sitting judge no less, tried 9 times to force visitation with them, and about a women that went off the deepend and locked up the 3 girls for 7 years in a squallid, mouse infested cesspool, with no outside contact with the world. The tale is sad, and scary.  Sad?  Authorities say the oldest girl may never r...

Ok, for us guys, she was sweet eye candy (when she dropped the life saver).  She knew how to keep herself up, and became rich by making an old man's last year a very happy one.  But really people!  Front page?  The Photo spot? Both Foxnews, and CNN (and I dont check out MSNBC as that is just a rag) have it in their lead spot!  Which is stupid!  She was a celeb!  Not an important person who cured something or changed something! left or right, if you think ...

You got that right!  IN addition to Algore (for his global warming hysteria), Rush Limbaugh was also nominated for the Prize.  One he has trashed in the past for awarding the prize to an avowed terrorist, and the worst president of the 20th century (among others). No one expects either to really win, as it would just cheapen the award even further.  But it is fun to watch the loony left go off into an apoplectic fit over his nomination!  It seems indeed true that liberals ...

Soul superbowl?   Give me a break!   That is the worst slur against Smith and Dungy I have ever heard!   They did not get there by being black!   They Earned it!   Every inch of the way!   They are the best this year!   And their race, to the shame of the PC clowns, did not help or hinder them!   Why?   Because in so few areas of this nation, but fortunately for the NFL, there is no affirmative action.   There is no “Lets pretend some...

A few years ago, I noticed all these shops popping up.  They were advertising short term loans for the cash strapped.  Up to $500!  For that short term loan to tide you over to payday.  I did not think much of them, nor did I ever try to avail myself of them.  I knew the catch without going in to check on it.  They would charge a fee for a loan of a week or so.  And annualized, that fee was worse than a cash advance on a credit card.  How else could they d...

Actually the title is not really a good one, but then this is just an ongoing issue with me. It seems that Barbara Boxer, a senator that has nothing in common with me, the right or Bush, has decided that since CAIR cannot condemn terrorism of its "peaceful" people, then she cannot honor them.  Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day. I guess she is no longer a buffoon, just a broken clock.  And a bigot as well. In some eyes.

I will admit I don't watch the View.  For a couple of reasons.  I work during the day, and I cannot stand Rosie Odumbel.  But apparently a lot of people do.  It is apparently very popular in its time slot. I do listen to talk Radio.  Glenn Beck and Rush mostly.  Why?  I can stream them on the Internet while I am working (which means I catch about 1/4 of the shows as I am working - but I do like background noise).  Of course the audience size of The View...
