Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

For those of us a certain age, we grew up with the Munsters, and loved the series, especially Fred Gwynn.  Al Lewis played grandpa Munster, and was an integral part of the series.  Always coming up with potions and weird inventions.

I guess all of our favorite characters (and I am not talking about the roles people play) are passing away.  A sign of age I guess.

Thanks Grandpa!  For a lot of great memories!

Yeah, I was a little sad when I saw this.
I don't remember the show when it was on (I wasn't born yet), but I watched the reruns for years. Still do, when I can catch them.
I always thought it was cool because they used him as kind of a "Dracula/Mad Scientist", thereby covering two horror movie stereotypes with one character. Kinda clever.

Maybe we should whip up a potion and toast his memory?

He was a very likable man...I'm glad he lived a long, active life. (btw, wasn't he 95? the cnn story title says he was 83).

I thought he was a loveable character. Yes, our age is catching up with us.....
I can only imagine that our ancestors said that of people from their time too.......

And made them loveable so we would like him.

He was 95. I guess CNN has a typo.

The same!  But then we knew some of them.  George Burns, Bob Hope.....

I was reminded as I read these posts of a "Battle of the Bands" a friend of mine was in some years ago. The band she played in was one of those alternative-weird hard, heavy metal rock style thingies.
They won the competition, and the last song of their set was a heavy metalized, speeded-up version on the "Munsters" theme. That's what got them the most applause.
I thought that it was cool; they played all that other weird crap, but the song everyone most responded to was the "Munsters".

Well, most of my generation does not go into heavy metal (as defined today), but we sure remember the Munster's them, even jazzed up!
