The Fatal Fall
Published on September 19, 2007 By Dr Guy In Current Events

The Headline Screamed: Is Dreamliner A Nightmare!

The subhead yelled: Is Boeing's new Baby a Boondoggle

And I was hooked!  Boeing's latest Jet has been getting a lot of press due to its radical nature of construction, and the fact it will revolutionize air travel if successful.  And since I do a lot, I was worried!  What was this fatal flaw?  What was this nightmare?

So I clicked on the link to read what I needed to be worried about......and was slammed first thing by this line:

Boeing Co's (BA) new carbon-composite 787 Dreamliner plane may turn out to be unsafe and could lead to more deaths in crashes, according to a report by veteran journalist Dan Rather to be broadcast in the United States on Tuesday.

That was enough for me.  I immediately knew that the headlines were just sensationalism, and that the whole story was just a preconceived hit piece against Boeing.

So my beating heart stilled, and I went back to living.  Knowing that it was just another smear piece by one famous for them.

Update:  Apparently Rather is suing CBS for Definition of Character. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,297370,00.html

The best thing Rather could do is slink off into the shadows and remain there.

I never said that. After all, I could have linked to the story from CNN. But it is not really a news story, rather a promo for Rather who has already been proven to be a liar and a smear meister.

I have little (not NO) faith in the mainstream media to report the news (report their opinions, yes a lot). I have NO faith in Rather doing it.

Well, at least he is not paying $14 million for a pair of pants.
